The Gianicolo (Janiculum) Hill offers spectacular panoramic views of Rome and pleasant walking paths. The Route: Walk up from Trastevere or through Villa Sciarra. The belvedere at the top offers stunning 180-degree views. Highlights: Garibaldi monument, the noon cannon (fired daily), Fontana dell'Acqua Paola. Views of the entire city. For Shaded paths through gardens. Not too crowded. Dogs on leash but comfortable walking.
