Via Appia Antica

The Via Appia Antica (Appian Way) is one of the world's most historic roads, perfect for an unforgettable dog walk. The Route: Walk from the start of the park southward along the ancient paving stones. The road is traffic-free on Sundays. What You'll See: Ancient tombs, catacombs (dogs not allowed inside), Roman ruins, and beautiful countryside. Umbrella pines line the route. Practical: Enter at the Cecilia Metella area. The park extends for many kilometers. Bring water and snacks.
